Welcome to The Wandering Kitchen

ed&Jo

Well hello, and welcome to The Wandering Kitchen blog website. The Wandering Kitchen is a new business for Oxfordshire. We are pop-up, mobile kitchen aiming to supply high quality, homemade and locally sourced food to the people of Oxfordshire.

Who are we?

Well we are Ed & Jo, a young *cough* couple on a mission to not only feed Oxfordshire amazing home cooked, hearty meals but also develop a community through our pop up events. We love food and we both started our careers in catering, we went off for a while to see if the grass was greener on the other side, but we both got fed up of the office and longed to return to the heat of the kitchen. We decided the time was right and the world was finally ready for The Wandering Kitchen. Ironically a week after Ed packed up his sales job, we found out we were having a baby, so we are starting a new business and having a baby in February. But as family, community and bringing people together to eat make up the very core of our business, bringing a baby into the world as we embark on this adventure could not be a better time.

Are you looking at our picture and thinking, “Have I seen these two before?” Well you may remember Ed from such catering events as Henley Regatta, Henley Festival and Royal Ascot. He was also the head chef of a restaurant in Berkshire. You may know me from my other company, online magazine and events company, Fe-line.

What do we do?

The food The Wandering Kitchen offers is rustic, homemade and locally sourced. Good hearty home cooked food is what we love and our menus have been inspired by home cooked favourites from our childhood mixed with popular dishes we have picked up on our travels. We will be setting up pop up Supper Clubs around Oxfordshire, serving lunches to hungry employees, feeding famished festival goers and catering for parties and functions.

Where can you try our food?

A very important question. We have three ‘Supper Clubs’ booked for before Christmas. Our ‘Supper Clubs’ will pop up in village halls around Oxfordshire. We will offer a full pop up restaurant experience, with four courses of amazing food, rustic charm and a magical atmosphere. The villages that we will be popping up in before Christmas are Ewelme near Wallingford and Tetsworth near Thame. Each evening will cost £40 including all of your food and a glass of wine. Take a look at an example menu and if you like what you see make a booking! We can’t wait to see you.

Into the New Year we will be organising Supper Clubs every Friday evening and selling food from our mobile van at lunchtimes. So keep an eye on the website, the blog, Facebook and Twitter to find out where we will be. If you have any questions or would like us to pop up your event, please contact us.

Ed and I can’t wait to see you at The Wandering Kitchen very soon!!
